Poetry, my valued companion,
Searching life for richer essence,
Not content to dally long,
Concealed amidst the shallows,
Preferably burrowing instead,
Deeply inside its marrow.

The last three lines…that triune link between shallows, burrowing, and marrow…is beautiful and has me hooked. Excellent, Michele 🙂

I agree with kseverny, the ending made the poem, and pulled it together.
Wonderful!

Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I actually got inspired to write it after going to a poetry event. That’s why this is so great! We can fire each other up to write even better!

Thank you Jingle! I really liked your new poem: To Love is to Forgive! I agree, but forgiving is mostly for the forgiver to just let go. Otherwise you carry around a lot of stored resentment.
